CONATEL

Description

The National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL) is Paraguay's telecommunications regulatory body. Its mission is to manage the radio spectrum, regulate telecommunications service providers, and protect users' rights.

Its main functions include allocating frequencies and licenses for mobile and broadcasting services, registering service providers and equipment, managing the Universal Service Fund to expand telecommunications access in underserved areas, and monitoring the quality of services provided.

CONATEL has offices in Asunción, Ciudad del Este, and Encarnación, and actively participates in international telecommunications bodies such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
